The only saviour of nature is human being, who lives amidst nature, said Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri branch Mutt.

He was speaking at a programme organised by Information department regarding the measures to be taken for conserving the environment at BGS Vidyaniketan in Manchanabele taluk. Man’s higher aspirations and greediness have been main reasons behind destruction of environment, he added.

Former president of Taluk Panchayat H V Chikkageriga Reddy said, students should be aware of conserving environment, in today’s situation, wherein there has been massive destruction of nature.  Saalumarada Thimmakka, is an inspiration for all, he added.

Journalist Jayaram said, programmes regarding environment should be held in schools and colleges, so that the young generation too will have a complete knowledge as to how to conserve it.

Information officer C M Ranga Reddy asked students to plant a sapling on their birthdays, which can help them in future. 

Aditya and Chaitra were awarded for their good performance in debate competition. Education expert Professor N Shivarama Reddy, Head Master Jayaram and others were present.
