Setalvad Holds TTK, Patel “Responsible”
Bombay, Jan. 30.
The Attorney General, Mr M C Setalvad today told the Chagla Commission that “though in law the primary responsibility” for the Life Insurance Corporation’s investments in the Mundhra concerns last June rested with the Chairman, Mr G R Kamat, and the Managing Director, Mr L S Vaidyanathan, “the real responsibility is that of the Finance Minister (Mr T T Krishnamachari) and the Principal Finance Secretary, Mr H M Patel.”
India Won’t Use A-Bombs
New Delhi, Jan. 30.
Prime Minister Nehru today declared that India might in the next four or five years be able to manufacture on atom bomb, but, he said, “we shall not make nor use it whatever happens.”

Antulay, Adik In Running For CM

The uncertainty and indecision over the selection of a new Chief Minister of Maharashtra to replace Mr Babasaheb Bhosale, seems to have cleared with Mr A B Antulay, Mr Ramarao Adik and Mr Vasantdada Patil announcing that they were in the race for the leadership of the Congress (I) Legislature Party.
