Almost every market in Bangalore has a dedicated space meant for selling watches. Over the years, the City has seen international brands retail here. For all the watch enthusiast's there's a treat headed their way- The Samaya Bharati, India International Watch and Clock Fair.
The exhibition, organised by Tradepost magazine under the auspices Watch Trade Federation, was started over 30 years ago. The exhibition aims to project India’s watch industry’s progress to the consumers. With the international brands coming in, it also serves as a platform for the industry to meet. There will be over 100 brands on display and sale, so people can walk in and have a wide choice of watches to choose from, all under one roof. The brands featured include Titan, Timex- Nautica, Opex paris, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Timond, Montres Edouard Lauzieres, Kenneth Cole, Levis, Rhythm, Citizen, Maixima, HMT, Fosil, Police, Nina Ricci, Morellato, Ajanta, Samay, Bentex and Westend, amongst others. With countries like Switzerland, France, Italy, Japan and the USA participating, it is truly an international expo. Says Mihir Kharod, Editor-in-Chief, Tradepost, “This is an ideal stage for discussions for both the retailers and the consumers, on the watch market. They can understand trends and available resources in the market.” He also added that India is one of the only four countries that have the knowledge and technology to make all the components of watch analogue movements. The exhibition will feature watches in a varied price range starting from Rs 200 and going up to a few lakh. Apart from watches there will also be clocks and accessories on sale.
The exhibition is on from January 31 to February 3 at Kanteerava Stadium.
