Carnatic concert
Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandir is holding a Carnatic classical music concert by Vidwan T S Pattabhirama Pandith, a disciple of Palghat K V Narayana Swamy. Musical tribute
Renuka Sangeeth Sabha Bangalore will organize an all-night Sangeeth Samaroh ‘Smruthi’, a musical tribute to vocalist Late Ganabhanu Pt Arjunsa Nakod at Ravindra Kalakshetra, J.C.Road on February 2 from 9 pm to 6 am. Mehfil hours
The 25th all night music mehfil of Gururao Deshpande Sangeet Sabha will be held at Gymkhana hall, IISc on February 9. The artistes performing include Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia, Dr Prabha Atre, Vidwan Mysore Nagaraj, Pt Ulhas Kashalkar and Pt Vinayak Torvi.
Nadajyoti festival
The 43rd Nadajyothi music festival will be held on February 10 at 5 pm. Gopal B. Hosur, IPS will present ‘Kalajyothi’ to C Ramdas (Harmonium), M Kodandaram,T S Vasantha Madhavi (vocal) and ‘Nadajyoti Puraskar’ to H S Sudheendra (mrudanga). The ‘poornakumbha swagatha’ will be held at 4.45 pm.
Nadajyothi Sri Thyagaraja Swamy Bhajana Sabha and Malleswaram Arya Vysya Sangha will present the festival from Feb 2 to Feb 10 at R P Ravishankar Sabhangana. Sri Kanyakaparameshwari temple premises, 8th cross, Malleswaram. ‘Kalajyothi’ Shanta Narasimhan will inaugurate the function. ‘Nadajyothi-2008’ will be
released by Sri Manu Baligar (Director, Dept of Kannada and Culture, Govt of Karnataka).
