The “delay’ in conducting elections to the Legislative Assembly in the State will now be raised in Parliament.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Wednesday, BJP National Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu alleged that the Congress party was deliberately trying to delay the elections in the State and the party would make an issue out of it in the next session of the Parliament. “We will raise it in Parliament. The Congress can only postpone defeat, but cannot avoid the same,” he said.
BJP’s three A’s Meanwhile, Naidu said the BJP will fight the next general election on three A’s - Able leadership, attractive agenda and antipathy of the UPA government.
Mr L K Advani, the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, is being projected as the epitome of good governance. Mr Advani will launch the sankalpa yatra in February and is likely to visit Bangalore during the second or third week of February.
On the party’s agenda, Naidu said the recent National Council meeting passed resolutions that would benefit women, farmers and the middle class. He said besides the 33 per cent reservation for women in party cadre, the meeting has adopted a resolution calling for loan waiver for farmers who have borrowed up to Rs 50,000 and loan migration for all who have borrowed at high interest rates from private money-lenders.
Replying to a query, Mr Venkaiah Naidu said the party would like to make a beginning and follow the reservation formula only if other parties follow suit.
