The haul includes 16 laptops, 370 gm of gold ornaments, 20 cellphones, 1.75 kg of silver ornaments and a motorbike.
Police said Boralingaiah alias Bora alias Rajesh (26) of Chatralinganadoddi in Maddur taluk, was nabbed in connection with burglary in various parts of the City. He used to gain entry into houses by breaking open the door locks and steal electronic gadgets and valuables he could shift easily.
Police nabbed him while he was planning to burgle a house.
Nabbed for thefts
The Central Police Station personnel nabbed a man on charges of thefts in various parts of State and Andhra Pradesh. He has been identified as Javed alias Jabi alias Chor Jabi (21) of N R Mohalla in Mysore. Jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh was recovered from him.
Held for forgery
Two persons were arrested for impersonation and selling vehicles using forged documents.
Police sources said Manohar (30) and Ravi (25) had duped several banks and finance companies by applying for loans for buying vehicles. The duo had bought six vehicles using forged documents and later sold them. They had cheated companies to the tune of Rs 40 lakh.
“Manohar was the mastermind. He would apply for a loan and purchase vehicles. After getting the vehicle, he used to prepare fake documents and then sell it off. Ravi was assisting him in these deals,” said DCP (South) Alok Kumar.
They had cheated ICICI Bank, Magma Finance & Leasing Company and Sriram Finance Company. Three cars, one jeep, a luggage vehicle, a truck, Rs 3 lakh in cash and jewels worth Rs 2.75 lakh were recovered from them.
Criminal held
The crime branch sleuths of Bangalore south nabbed Ilyas Khan (28) of Halegurappanapallya, a notorious criminal, and seized a country-made revolver from him. A case was registered against him under Arms Act.
Youth found dead
Mystery shrouds the death of a youth whose body was found near the railway track at Malleswaram on Wednesday morning.
He has been identified as Dhanashekhar (21), a resident of Mariyappanapallya at Rajajinagar and an employee of a private firm. On Tuesday evening, he left home saying he would wish his friends for new year and return soon, but his family members were shocked to hear his body was lying near a railway track.
