“Our main concern is that we are not able to wean her off the ventilator because of poor breathing efforts. Our hands will remain tied till the time we don’t take her off the ventilator,” said Dr Karunakara BP, associate professor of paediatrics, MS Ramaiah Hospital on Wednesday.
“Monisha opened her eyes more frequently and looked around today but she cannot identify anyone because she is on the ventilator,” he added.
The five-year-old was admitted in the Hospital last week after she survived an alleged murder attempt by her mother. Her parents reportedly ended their lives around the same time.
On the other hand, police are still groping in dark to trace out the reasons that drove the couple- Sudha and Nagesh- to take the drastic step.
“We interrogated all the family members but nothing substantial has come out so far,” said an investigating policeman.
