Holiday hangover hangs over kids
Bangalore, DHNS:

Many schools in the City re-opened on Wednesday. Schools welcomed the New Year with a sombre note.
Realising it’s the first day after Christmas holiday, a few schools did not start any new lessons, instead revised the lessons that were taught earlier.

Delhi Public School (DPS, South) re-opened on Wednesday. “Children took oath to help the underprivileged children,” said Manju Sharma, Principal.

At Ryan International School, Kundanahalli, the day began with special assembly and prayers. “Later, regular classes were held,” said Prashanth Fernandez, Principal.

Exams
For Class 10 and 12 students from both CBSE and ICSE curriculum, this New Year is more of hard work and preparation.

Class 10 students of DPS (South and North), which follow CBSE curriculum, will write for the pre-board exam from Friday.

Class 10 students of Ryan International School, which is affiliated to Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations, will take internal practical test on Thursday. Some schools in the City are planning to re-open before January 10. Baldwin Boys High School will reopen on January 7 while St John’s High School will re-open on January 4.  Principal Rani Rajkumar said, for Class 10 and 12 the preparatory exam will commence from January 9.
While some students were still in holiday mood many other said, they were happy to go back to school as they got to meet all their friends. Deccan Herald spoke to a few students and this is what they had to say:

Nandita G, a Class 6 student of Florence Public School, R T Nagar said that she didn’t feel like going to school.
“I had 15 days holidays. During my holidays I visited various places. When I came back to school, I was still thinking about all the fun I had during my holidays,” she said.

Gowri R Prasad, a Class 8 student, said that she got to meet all her friends again but she didn’t like to get up early to go to school as she was used to get up late during the holidays.

For Pallavi Narayan, a Class 9 student of Florence Public School, R T Nagar she was happy to back to school as it was “time for reunion with her friends”.
