Addressing election officers at a meeting called to discuss the revision of electoral rolls, the deputy commissioner said that steps are being taken to remove the bogus voters from the electoral rolls.
Secretaries of the GP, revenue department staff and constituency-level teams have begun compiling the list of voters through door-to-door visits. Officials will be allocated the task of inspecting the lists, he said. The revised list will be published on January 7, and the final list will be published on January 10. Government officials have been appointed for the revision of lists on priority basis, and public work may get held up during the period. The DC has requested co-operation in this regard.
