ICICI Bank customers staged a protest alleging that the bank failed to issue a NOC in spite of the payment of the loan amount, in front of ICICI branch in K S Rao Road in Mangalore on Wednesday. Police had to intervene to control the situation. It was said that a resident of Sooralppady had requested for NOC. Enraged over this, he staged a protest in front of the Bank. He was joined by other customers later.

A release from ICICI Bank informed that Mr Karunakara S has two loans-namely car and personal loan-with ICICI Bank taken in July 2004 and August 2006.  As per the loan agreement, the customer has to clear all the outstanding dues with the bank for obtaining NOC in case of foreclosure of any one loan. In this case, though car loan was cleared, the NOC can not be given as dues of around Rs 39,323 on the personal loan are still pending, the release added.
