Let the magic begin!
Namrata Iyengar
The Disney Live! Mickeys Magic Show is bound to make your jaw drop.

You’ve got to see it to believe it. Forget the old, done-to-death vanishing acts and the rabbit-in-the-hat tricks. The Disney Live! Mickey’s Magic Show is bound to make your jaw drop. The live stage shows that host the hugely popular Disney characters — Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck and Goofy — are coming to Bangalore on February 8. With multiple shows at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, tickets for the same are on sale now.

But just because it’s Disney, it doesn’t mean that you, your parents and even grandparents can’t enjoy it. “It’s complete quality family entertainment,” says Venkat Vardhan, MD of DNA Networks that is bringing Disney Live! to India. “DNA Networks is specifically more active in Bangalore, its house base, and has continuously strived to bring cutting edge live acts to the City. One area to complete the portfolio was family entertainment. In view of this, we have now a long term tie-up with Disney to provide its live family shows to Indian audiences, commencing with Disney Live! in Bangalore this February,” he adds.

The entire show runs for 90 minutes with a 20-minute intermission. Apart from recreating Disney books and movies like Alice in Wonderland, Alladin, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and Cinderella, the show also hosts accomplished illusionists Brad Ross and Alex Gonzales who will present live acts like making the princesses levitate, disappear or change their outfits in a flash. If you thought this was kid’s stuff, wait till you see it yourself. Combined with beautiful, colourful change-in-a-minute sets, flashy lighting and authentic costumes, you’ll feel the characters have stepped right out of a fairytale.

Produced by Kenneth Feld, the show comprises illusions by famed illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the illusions in the show, including a dynamic sawing-in-half duet and an awe-inspiring levitation of Minnie. “No matter if they are on stage or in their seats, the entire family is given an unforgettable experience. Amidst a show jam-packed with surprises and spectacles, audiences learn as they take part in a revolutionary blend of captivating magic,” Vardhan says.

This is no ordinary, small-time show. As you walk in, you’re sure to see a gigantic stage with huge props, colourful sets and loads of equipment lighting up the stage from every angle. “Disney Live! is a full experience. Nine container loads of equipment, rich costumes and sets give the show its plush and lively feel. It is a must-see because the million dollar production is being offered at reasonable prices for the entire family,” Vardhan adds.

Tickets are priced at Rs 500, Rs 750 and Rs 1000. Log on to www.ticketpro.in to book tickets or visit the specially designed Disney kiosks at Sigma Mall, Garuda Mall and The Forum in Koramangala.
