Deepam Silk International unveiled the ‘Glitterati’ collection of sarees on December 28 to add sparkle to the festive season. This exclusive collection combines the splendour of the past with the elegance of the present and are said to be ideal for a cocktail party or a wedding celebration.
The collection features fashionable sarees encrusted with glittering Swarovski, beads, pearls, crystals and sequins.
This exclusive line, for the woman in the spotlight, is said to be the most elegant drape for a star-studded appearance.
Saree sale
Sree Swarna Lakshmi Collections, a sister concern of the Bangalore-based Sri Sai Lakshmi Collections, is conducting a Sankranti sale between January 1 and 15. The sale would showcase a wide range of exclusive handloom sarees and dress materials in several colours and textures.
The group is offering a discount of 10 per cent on all sarees and 30 per cent on select silks, silk cottons and cottons.
The sale will offer sarees and dress materials with embroidery on cotton silks and Chennai cottons, Korvai silk cottons, Chettinads, temple borders in ethnic colours and cottons with rich silk borders and silk pallus.
The sale will also offer designer polly cottons, handwoven rural silk cottons and a wide range of embroidery silks, silk cottons and cottons.

Fountain Music company has launched Video CDs and MP3s of live recordings from Savai Gandharva Music Festival, held in Pune.
Performers included great music maestros like Pt Bhimsen Joshi, Pt Jasraj, Parveen Sultana, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Girija Devi, Jitendra Abhisheki, Hariprasad Chourasia and Shivkumar Sharma.
The proceeds from the sale of VCDs and MP3s, priced at Rs 150 each, will be used for the musical activities of Arya Sangeet Prasarak mandal which trains students in classical music.
Indian classical audios, CDs, VCDs and MP3s are available at Planet M and Music World on Brigade road, Sri Sai Baba Cassettes Centre in Malleswaram, and Calypso and Music Paradise in Jayanagar.
