A severe cold wave swept Punjab and Haryana where ground frost is likely to occur at many places in the next two nights. In Haryana the mercury dipped between four to eight degrees below normal at various places. The cold wave also swept mid and lower hills in Himachal Pradesh imparing life for people in tribal areas.

Residents in Kashmir valley woke up to the coldest morning of the season in more than two decades with the minimum temperature dipping to minus 7.4 degrees Celsius. Delhi recorded the season’s coldest morning on Wednesday with the minimum temperature of 1.9 degrees Celsius.
