Hyderabad managed to eke out a 53-run lead against Karnataka on the second and penultimate day of their match in the South Zone inter-state (under-13) tournament here at the NRA Palace ground on Wednesday.
Resuming at their overnight score of 47 for one, in pursuit of Karnataka’s modest 236, Hyderabad scored 289 all out in 104.1 overs for the all-important lead. B Anirudh was the top-scorer for the visitors with 75, while Chaitanya Reddy chipped in with 57. Tanmay Agarwal contributed 46. For the hosts KN Bharath was the pick of the bowlers with three for 21 while Shimon Luiz F and G Pawan claimed two each. Karnataka in the second essay were 21 without loss after five overs.
In a high-scoring match at the RWF ground, Andhra took a handsome 113-run over Goa. Having scored a mammoth 457 all out in 78.5 overs in their first innings, Goa gave spirited reply before being dismissed for 344 in 100.1 overs. Vikas Shetty was the top-scorer for Goa with a sparkling 106 off 115 ball (21x4).
