The crucial talk, which took place between Pejawar pontiff Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji and Puttige Seer Sugunendra The-ertha Swamiji as an attempt towards solving the Paryaya controversy on Tuesday night, failed to bring about any consensus.
The Pejawar pontiff, speaking to the reporters on Wednesday at Pejawar Math, regretted the failure of talks and said that he would go with the majority opinion among the remaining six seers of the Asta Mutt over the issue of Puttige seer performing prayer rituals to Lord Shree Krishna inside the sanctum sanctorum. He said that all the Asta Mutth seers have the right to interfere in the affairs of the Krishna math should any problem arises and have the right to express their opinions.
Informing reporters that he would agree to the consensus emerging out of the majority opinion, Pejawar pontiff said if Paryaya Krishnapur Seer and Palimaru seer have no objection regarding Puttige Seer performing prayers to the Lord Krishna, then he would go with their decision. Reacting to the support for Puttige seer by Admaru senior pontiff Vibhudesha Theertha Swamiji, he said that it is essential that the junior pontiff of Admar math too gives his approval over the issue.
He strongly declined to seek any legal help and said it should be solved within the premises of the Astha maths without any external interference.
He added that he favours the formation of the constitution for the Asta Mutts as demanded by Puttige Seer to solve this deadlock, but even this should go according to the majority opinions from the seers of the Asta Mutts.
The Pejawar seer also said that if the stand on ‘videsh yatra’ is softened, the number of pontiffs of the Astha maths favouring the issue and visiting foreign lands would increase, which would be detrimental to the sanctity of the Krishna math.
