After media reports of her arrest and heinous crimes, many people came forward to lodge missing complaints with the police. “On Wednesday, we received five complaints from people in and around Bangalore. Three lodged complaints of their missing relatives, while two said Mallika worked in their house as domestic help,” said Joint Commissioner (Crime) Gopal G Hosur.
He said there could be more information on Mallika and missing complaints in the next few days. “We are opening old missing cases and verifying details. First hand information from people will be of immense use. There could be more missing complaints filed by the relatives of her victims. We will have to wait and watch,” Mr Hosur said. Meanwhile, the police have not been able to garner more information from Mallika as she is reportedly under depression.
“Mallika is diabetic and has hypertension. She is tight lipped, maybe due to depression,” sources said.
“We need to know what happened between 1999 and 2007 because a woman with a track rec-ord of nearly 10 years of financial fraud and cold-blooded killings would not have sat idle for eight years,” police said.
City Commissioner of Police Achutha Rao said Mallika would be made to undergo narcoanalysis after two days.
