Aviva Life Insurance on Thursday introduced 3 new fund options—Index fund, Enhancer fund and Bond fund in its products: PensionPlus, LifeLong, Life Bond 5, SaveGuard, LifeSaver Super and FreedomLife Plan.
The Index fund aims to create long term wealth by investing in Nifty 50 companies and has a lower fund management charge as compared to other equity linked funds. The Bond fund aims to generate a steady income through investment in high quality fixed income securities. This fund is ideal for customers with a low risk appetite and it comprises of 100 per cent debt and money market. The Enhancer fund aims to provide long-term capital growth with high equity exposure.
Airtel’s contract for single IVR to Nokia Siemens
Nokia Siemens Networks on Thursday announced that it has been awarded a pan India contract from Bharti Airtel Ltd for deployment of a single Interactive Voice Response (IVR) platform across all 23 circles. The three year turnkey and multi-million Euro contract includes designing, planning, systems integration and optimisation services to enhance overall customer experience. The new IVR solution will enable Airtel to deliver services such as Voice SMS, Televoting, Call Management Services, etc. It will help in reducing costs due to optimised network utilisation, and increase security, said a press release.

Monster Worldwide, parent company of Monster.com, the global online employment solution company, on Thursday announced the launch of SMS based job search application in India.
The user can type free text such as “Jobs Brand Manager Delhi” and SMS to 53030 in India. The user will instantly receive the top 3 job matches back on his mobile as an SMS, the company claimed. This is the second mobile application launched by the company in addition to the SMS Express launched in 2007.

SBI revises interest rates on domestic term deposits
State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday revised its interest rates on domestic term deposits from Friday, reports DHNS from Mumbai.
For tenure of 15 days to 45 days, the rate is unchanged at 4.75 per cent; for 46 days to 90 days, it is 5.25 per cent; for 91 days to 180 days 7 per cent; for tenure of 181 days to less than 1 year the rate is 7.5 per cent; for 1 year to less than 2 years, the rate is 8.75 per cent and for tenure of 2 years and up to 10 years, the rate is 8.5 per cent. It has also revised interest rates payable on deposits of Senior Citizens (60 years and above), as follows: for tenure of 1 year to less than 2 years, the rate is 9.25 per cent; and for tenure of 2 years and up to 10 years, the rate is 9 per cent.
SanDisk unveils its novel flash storage drive
SanDisk Corp., introduced a new flash storage drive, on Wednesday, that also automatically backs up data to the Internet, reports Reuters from Los Angeles.
When consumers store documents, photos and music onto SanDisk’s new Cruzer Titanium Plus USB flash drive, it will back up that digital information to a Web service offered by a start-up company called BeInSync, which stores data onto Amazon.com Inc's computers.’
The new storage drive, which SanDisk believes is the first of its kind, is the latest in a wave of devices that link up with the Internet to offer new features to products that were previously considered stand-alone, or offline, devices. The Cruzer, which retails for $59.99 and goes on sale in March, will come with four gigabytes of storage and provide six months of free online backup. After that period, a user pays $29.99 a year to continue the online storage service.
Wipro opens BPO centre in Philippines
Wipro Technologies, the global IT services arm of Wipro Limited, has opened a BPO centre in Cebu in the Philippines as part of its strategy to build international delivery capabilities.Wipro plans to hire more than 900 employees for its 45,000 sq ft Cebu facility, which became operational yesterday. The company is also looking at establishing additional centres in other fast-growing cities in the Philippines.
The centre in Cebu will offer an exhaustive range of services to Wipro's customers. The focus will be both on voice and non-voice businesses in the field of customer service support, technical support, HR services, financial and accounting and procurement services, a company release said.
Bangalore-headquartered Wipro chose the Philippines among several other locations due to the availability of qualified talent in that country, it said.
