And the land acquisition process for the same will be completed by January end, he added.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Mr Malleshayya said, the four lane construction project of the national highway 48 will be implemented in the form of two packages.
The first package - Nelamangala (28 km) to Devihalli (110 km), included 512.17 acres of land belonging to a total of 76 villages.
The final notice for the acquisition of land had already been dispatched and also the process of providing compensation to the land owners was in progress.
Project report
A detailed report in this regard would be sent to the Union government by this month-end, he said. Also, amidst this, the required project work for the first phase of the quadrilateral road project would be started in government lands.
At the same time, as per the rules and regulations of the State government, removal of trees, shifting of power supply lines, and other related works would be undertaken, he said.
In the first package - construction of Kunigal and Channarayapattna bypass roads will be undertaken and also the construction of the substitute bypass road from Gottikere to Alappanagudde (16 km), as a substitute to State Highway 48 which passes from Kunigal town, will also be undertaken.
Land acquisition
The acquisition of 605.34 acres of land belonging to total 23 villages in Kunigal taluk for the construction of a railway route has been completed.
And also, the final notice for the acquisition of total 30,000 square feet house and site in the town region, had also been completed, the officer said. Reacting to this, project technical manager of National Highway 48 Quadrilateral Road project Jwalendra Kumar said, the contract had been offered to a Hyderabad-based company on the system of build, operate and transfer and the first package would begin by
January 5.
Cost of the project
The project cost of the first phase was fixed at Rs 441 crore and it is likely to go up. The contract period is for a total of 25 years and the time limit for the the first phase is two-and-a-half years, he said and added that in the first package as the national highway passes through the six villages of Bellur Cross, Yedeyuru, Gudemaranahalli, Gottigere, Gavimata, Alappanagutti and State highways, the roads will be built at height of 7 to 12 meters.
Besides, underpasses will be constructed in nine places for the rural and State highways to pass through. Also underpass for railway line will also be constructed, he said.
The other highlight of these roads will be each side of the road will be 8.5 metres wide and there will be 4.5 metres median with plants and trees grown.
Apart from this there will also be service roads and other smaller roads. The whole project will be completed by 2010, he said.
