Couple attacked with lethal weapons
Kunigal, DHNS: A group of people allegedly attacked a couple belonging to Channathimmayyanapalya hobli of Hutridurga taluk with lethal weapons. The couple identified as Gangarevaiah and his wife Shivamma, are seriously injured in the attack.

Old rivalry between the Gangarevaiah and Kantharaju, is said to be the reason behind the attack. Gangarevaiah and Kantharaju had quarrelled over the installation of an electric pole in the fields belonging to Gangarevaiah. In order to settle scores with him, he along with Chandrayya, Dayanand and another unidentified person, arrived on a bike at Revathi hotel, run by the couple in Anchepalya, picked up a quarrel over a petty issue and attacked the couple with lethal weapons. The couple were admitted to the public hospital in Kunigal and were later on, shifted to a Bangalore hospital. A case has been registered in this connection.
