Karnataka Missions Network staged a protest outside Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday demanding the Deputy Commissioner and authorities concerned to take note of the atrocities taking place on the Christian community in the region and to take appropriate steps to provide security to them and safeguard their interest.
On the context of the attack on the End Times Harvesters of India church, functioning at Alfa Centre Kankanady, on December 23, the protesters in a memorandum to the DC said that the miscreants not only damaged the church property but also indulged into attacking the church members and children.
The protesters demanded the Deputy Commissioner to take measures to provide compensation to the church in this regard.
They said that the instances of planned attacks on churches have been increasing over the year and though they have filed cases in this regard to the police time to time after the attack, no actions were taken and hence they assume that even this case will fade out without the culprits being booked.
They also said that there have been disheartening instances of the police telling the church leaders that they should cease their church activities.
