Several people have complained of not giving proper remuneration to the computer staff who have been appointed to gram panchayats under National Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Circulars had been out to recruit graduates with computer knowledge to each gram panchayats under part time basis with a monthly remuneration of Rs 2,750.
Accordingly, candidates had been appointed for 14 Gram Panchayats in Narasimharajapur taluk, 22 in Koppa taluk and 7 in Sringri taluk. It had been decided that their salary would be given from the administrative expenses of the scheme.
Unfortunately, the gram panchayats have come forward to give only Rs 500 as monthly remuneration to the staff, which has created apprehension among them.
The candidates have reportedly decided to launch dharnas seeking justice against the system.
