Apathy makes bus stand useless
Baindoor, DHNS:

The bus stand for the commuters travelling from Baindoor to Kundapur reeks of foul odour emanating from the drainage water here apart from leading to possible spread of contagious diseases. ]

The PWD has left the drainage works from Baindoor junction to Nakatte bridge incomplete since three years. Due to this, the waste from hotels and other places, commuters are left with no other option but suffer the inconvenient foul smell.

Earlier, bus drivers used to stop their buses a few kilometres away from the bus stand for the commuters to alight and board the bus.

The bus stand had got converted into a resting ground for beggars and drunkards, and an article was written on the issue. Baindoor Circle Inspector Bateera Ahmed  then took stringent action against bus drivers, due to which commuters started using the bus stand.

While the drain constructed by PWD, which passes through the bus stand is even now left open and tourists visiting Kollur and daily commuters including women, children and aged persons who travel to different places face the danger of falling into the drain and getting hospitalised.

The public criticised that even grave danger awaits the public, the officials concerned have not responded to the problem.
