Cleanliness has become the science of the life today. But Scientific thinking is required to eradicate superstition, said Bharata Jnana Vigyana Samithi President H A Purushotham.
He was speaking at the programme organised by Bharata Jnana Vigyana Samithi as part of the Jnana Vigyana Jatha at Shankara Vidyalaya in Kolar on Thursday.
Science and scientific attitude are two different concepts,opined Purushotham who said that scientific attitude is thinking clearing in one particular direction.
But in India there is dearth of scientific attitude among the people, opined Purushotham who said that programmes like decentralisation for development, harmony and scientific thinking have been undertaken by the Samithi in the form of Jatha to create awareness .
Scientific attitude and inquisitiveness should be inculcated in the children in order to make them think about various things rather than blindly imitating those, he added.
One has to start understanding the difference between belief and superstition from their student days, opined Block Education Officer K S Nagaraj Gowda who was the Chief guest.
Though scientific approach is gaining rapid momentum, people are unable to keep pace with it. Somewhere there is a lapse, these lapses needs to rectified immediately, opined Sarva Shikhsha Abhiyaan’s deputy Coordinator K Prahald Gowda who spoke on the occasion.
