The responsibility of the police in creating awareness among the general public about traffic rules is more, said DySP Nanaiah on Thursday. He was speaking at the inauguration of the traffic training programme for the police, at the police parade ground.

The police apart from creating awareness about traffic rules  among the public should also see to it that they don’t violate the rules, added Mr Nanaiah.

Chikkaballapur being the district centre is witnessing a tremendous spurt in traffic movement everyday. There has also been an increase in accidents in the district. This is a direct result of violation of traffic rules. Thus, against this background new traffic rules will be have to be devised. Moreover, new sign boards will be distributed throughout the city.
