The New year begins with a bang. The Levi's Sunday Jam now in its second decade, organised by Guruskool is on January 6 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Kumara Krupa Road Bangalore from 5 pm onwards. The featured band is the the popular rock band Vinapra.
Host of other bands like Heavy Water, Dark Saints, Cross Legacy, Grubby Halo, Silent Echoes, Kaashmora, Occult Decibel, Bharat Srinivasan (solo), Eliot Glick, a solo acoustic guitarist from Toronto and many others have registered to perform. The event is free and starts from 5 pm onwards.
The featured band Vinapra has grown over time, from humble beginnings and has gone through an evolutionary phase. The band began as a small dream in Natraj’s (Nutti’s) head. Teaming up with his long-time friend, Pradeep, the duo co-wrote a few songs.
The good fortune of a common friend brought Prasad to the band – they now officially had a drummer. All that was required was the bassist and they were complete. Another common friend sealed the deal or them by introducing the band to Vivian (Tery), an accomplished bassist who later on switched roles with Pradeep to be the rhythm and lead guitarist for the band.
And after a lot of shows and couple of years. Manoj George, a friend and an accomplished musician who plays the violin, joined the band. Vinapra’s self-titled debut album released in Bangalore on October 17. The album consists of nine songs and is available at leading music store across the country.
