Bedi unveils 'Safer India'
New Delhi, Agencies:
Kiran Bedi on Thursday unveiled a website, 'Mission Safer India', to register complaints from the public.

In her first major step after doffing her police uniform, Kiran Bedi on Thursday unveiled a website, ‘Mission Safer India’, to register complaints from the public. She used the occasion to point out inefficiency in the police as well, and pulled them up for hiding facts from the public.

While announcing, www.saferindia.com, Bedi, India’s first woman police officer who retired last month, said that police officials were misleading the media and citizens by manipulating statistics. “Not even a single police officer has dared to reveal the correct crime graph.”

She also said that police officials were not addressing complaints from people, and by refusing to probe criminal cases were actually encouraging criminals. “In my endeavour to bring reforms in policing, today we are launching a mechanism through which we would ask people to register their grievances with our website,” she said at the launch.“The victims’ complaint would be forwarded to the respective police chiefs with a copy to the complainant.”

This site interested me right from the start I saw it. I am trying to track down my sister who lived in Delhi for the past 2 decades and is suddenly missing with absolutely no communication whatsoever. I put forward my case to this website about a month back and still have no positive feedback. I do not hear much from the concerned in spite of regularly emailing. I find no words to express my disappointment as my efforts to track down my sister and kids has been unfruitful.

I am really happy that, our respected Kiran Bedi of mother india has taken a good inneactive in launching such website. At this stage we feel that there is some one who will look in to the matter of innocant one by giving proper justice. No doubt that there will be direct and indired control on the crime by way of this website. We all Indain must help her in providing the proper and true information through this medai. This wesite will be recognised only if justice is given to the innocence.
