Karnataka came up with a much-improved batting performance in their second essay to force a draw against Hyderabad on the third and final day of their South Zone inter-state under-13 tournament here at the NRA ground on Thursday.
Having conceded the vital 53-run first innings lead, Karnataka, resuming at overnight 21 for no loss, finished their second innings at 318 for six in 96 overs coinciding with end of day’s proceedings. Nischal D (71), Abhisehk Reddy (91) and Kushal (62) were the top run-getters for the hosts.
At the IAF ground, Tamil Nadu registered an emphatic seven-wicket win over Kerala. Chasing 165 for an outright win, Tamil Nadu coasted to 168 for three in 29.3 overs. Earlier, Kerala, asked to follow-on, declared their second innings at 350 for nine in 117.2 overs.
Sanju V Samson, who slammed 186, was the main architect of Kerala’s revival.
