A city magistrate on Thursday ordered the High Grounds police to investigate a private criminal complaint lodged against former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy over his alleged derogatory statements on Veerashaiva-Lingayat seers. Complainant N P Amrutesh, a city advocate has accused Kumaraswamy of making “derogatory” statements against Veerashaiva mutt seers with specific reference to Siddaganga mutt seer Sri Shivakumaraswamiji at the JD(S) executive committee meeting held on Nov 29, 2007.
