Mega city policing
Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil has asked the State government to submit its proposals for improving the police system in Bangalore under the Centre’s ‘mega city policing’ scheme.
Mr P K H Tarakan, advisor to Governor Rameshwar Thakur, told reporters here on Friday that the Government would finalise its proposals and submit them to the Centre.
Mr Shivaraj Patil had asked the State to submit its proposals under the scheme when he chaired a reviewing meeting recently.
The ‘mega city policing’ scheme envisages systemic and holistic efforts aimed at strengthening and modernising policing parameters.
Cameras on from today
Bangalore City police have installed five “Traffic Enforcement/Red Cameras” at the following junctions to check effectively violation of traffic rules: Kamraja Road and Cubbon Road Junction; Hennur Road-Ring Road Junction; Deve Gowda Petrol Bunk Junction, CV Raman Road and new BEL Road Junction and 24th main JP Nagar Ring Road Junction.
P K H Tharakan, Advisor to Governor will inaugurate the camera installed at Kamaraja Road and Cubbon Road Junction at Gen Manickshaw parade ground at 5 pm on Saturday.
