The upcoming band, Sixth Element performed at the MTV ‘Unplugged Thursdays’ event at the Shoppers’ Stop in Garuda Mall on January 3. MTV in association with Shoppers’ Stop provides a platform for talented upcoming bands who perform every Thursday.

Sixth Element is a new band consisting of talented and energetic youngsters. The band has participated in various competitions and events, their biggest milestone being their phenominal success at the Campus Rock Idols recently. “The band has been in the scene since 2006 and mainly focuses on Rock n Roll and funk and has won prizes at various events”, band member Mishti said. The band consists of Yadhu who is the drummer, Ravish, Mishti and Siddharth are the guitarists and Venki is the lead vocalist.

The band performed to cheering audiences at Shoppers’ Stop on Thursday who left their shopping to give a listen to some very energetic music. The band performed some of their own compositions like Dragon fly, My friend Jack, Love struck and stop led by the lead vocalist Venky, which left the audience asking for more. Venki showed his immense talent  by performing some of the biggest hits like Road House blues and  Another brick in the wall.

The guitarists, led by Ravish and the drummer exhibited their talent with some scintillating instrumental performance. The icing on the cake of Thursday’s event was MTV video jockey Anusha’s presence who gave the all important encouragement for  the young budding artists.
