Running Bull, piloted by CD Hayes, defeated odds on favourite Badge Of Gold, ridden by O’Donoghue,  to win the 1400M Kelachandra New Millennium Cup, the feature event of the races held here on Friday.

There was much drama at the end when Hesperus, KPG Appu astride, was declared the winner. Appu started flashing the victory symbol, but his joy was short-lived as Running Bull  was finally adjudged the winner later in a race that went down the wire.
