In order to press for suitable support price for sugarcane crop, a delegation of Congress members would meet the Governor soon, said KPCC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge.
Speaking to the media persons in Mysore, en route Madikeri on Saturday, he observed that farmers, in various parts of the State are holding protests demanding suitable price for the cane and the Congress is contemplating in this regard. Following protests in Mysore, Mandya, Haveri, Hospet and other parts, the Governor will be urged to work in this regard. No works have been put off under the Governor’s administration and BJP’s complaint over this are baseless, he said. Commenting on Mr Yeddyurappa’s Budget announcement, Kharge said the former chief minister spent time in power transfer row instead of implementing the Budget.
The Governor’s roles are bound by the Constitution and he is abiding by it. Nobody can interfere in his work, Kharge added. He further stated that the party is ready to face the election anytime but electoral lists need to be rectified.
