The annual Infant Jesus feast will be celebrated on January 6 at the Infant Jesus Shrine at Pushpashrama said, Rev Fr Archie Gonsalves here on Saturday.
Addressing the press meet, he said, “The feast, annually, is being celebrated soon after Christmas at the dawn of the New Year. Bishop of Mysore Rev Fr Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly will be celebrating the solemn mass and Pushpashrama Infant Jesus Shrine has arranged a mass marriage ceremony to mark the ocassion.
The main service will be conducted by Bishop of Gulbarga Rev Robert Miranda on the same evening at 5 pm.
The Sarva Dharma Samanvaya - an inter religious prayer service will also be held on this occasion.”
The Infant Jesus Shrine is located in R S Naidu Nagar, off the ring road on Mysore - Bangalore highway. Pushpashrama was originally called ‘Rani Thota’ way back in 1965 when Carmelite fathers came to Mysore for teaching, preaching and service of poor.
The place gradually turned into a shrine, which was inaugurated in 2004 and the Infant Jesus feast held there annually sees thousands of devotees thronging the place to be part of the celebrations.
