Davenport claims title
Wellington, reuters:

Former world number one Lindsay Davenport set her sights on a strong run at this month's Australian Open after she beat Aravane Rezai of France 6-2, 6-2 to win the Auckland Classic on Saturday.
The American needed just 51 minutes to seal her third title in four tournaments since returning to the tour in September, having had a year off, during which she had her first child.
Li Na triumphs
China’s Li Na, playing her first tournament in six months due to injury, beat Victoria Azarenka 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to win the Australian women’s hardcourt tennis championship, reports AP from Gold Coast. Li beat top-seeded Nicole Vaidisova in the quarterfinals and No 4 seed Patty Schnyder in the semifinals here.
Williams score
American superstar Venus Williams fired a warning shot ahead of the Australian Open, crushing one of her main rivals Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-3 in the final in Hong Kong with a ruthless display of power tennis, reports AFP.
Nieminen in final
Third seed Jarkko Nieminen of Finland will take on Frenchman Michael Llodra in the final of the Adelaide International after both came through their semifinals in straight sets. Nieminen saw off another Frenchman, sixth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2, 6-4 and the unseeded Llodra ended the run of Australian wildcard Joe Sirianni 6-3, 7-6.
Ljubicic exits
Unseeded Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka knocked out defending champion Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia 7-6, 6-4 to reach the Qatar Open final on Friday, adds Reuters from Doha. Wawrinka will face last year's beaten finalist Andy Murray in the final after the Briton overcame top seed Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 6-3.
