China’s Li Na, playing her first tournament in six months due to injury, beat Victoria Azarenka 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to win the Australian women’s hardcourt tennis championship, reports AP from Gold Coast. Li beat top-seeded Nicole Vaidisova in the quarterfinals and No 4 seed Patty Schnyder in the semifinals here.

Nieminen in final
Third seed Jarkko Nieminen of Finland will take on Frenchman Michael Llodra in the final of the Adelaide International after both came through their semifinals in straight sets. Nieminen saw off another Frenchman, sixth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2, 6-4 and the unseeded Llodra ended the run of Australian wildcard Joe Sirianni 6-3, 7-6.
Ljubicic exits
Unseeded Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka knocked out defending champion Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia 7-6, 6-4 to reach the Qatar Open final on Friday, adds Reuters from Doha. Wawrinka will face last year's beaten finalist Andy Murray in the final after the Briton overcame top seed Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 6-3.
