Wanted to be teacher, became a cheater

 A youth turned into a thief instead of becoming a teacher that he aspired to be. Narayanaswamy (24) of Thippenahalli in Kolar district, who had completed TCH, was arrested in connection with a series of thefts in the city.
He worked as a market researcher for Synovate India a market research and consultancy agency. The accused used to enter houses as the agent of the Synovate India before fleeing with valuables, police said.
On December 17, he had entered the residence of one Shruthi and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 1 lakh. Following a complaint, he was arrested on January 3 and stolen property was recovered.
Five held for murder
The J P Nagar police arrested one Pradeep in connection with the murder of Srinivas at Srirangapatna in Mandya district on December 24.
The police revealed that Pradeep along with his four accomplices had allegedly murdered Srinivas at his Srirangapatna residence. Srinivas was said to be the eye-witness in the Prasanna murder case.
Police also arrested Pradeep (19), Sunil (19), Deepu (21), Pradeep (25) and Mohan (22), all from Palahalli at Srirangapatna.
Racket busted
The police busted a flesh trade racket near A S Ramaiah Kalyana Mantapa at Jalahalli on Friday and arrested four people. The CCB  nabbed them on a tip-off.
10 held, pirated CDs seized
The Bangalore South Division police raided several places and seized pirated CDs of several Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies worth Rs 10 lakh on Friday. Ten people were arrested in this connection.
