Five from City die in mishap
Davangere, dhns: Five members of family from Sanjaynagar in Bangalore were killed and four seriously injured when their van rammed against a parapet wall near Anagodu on NH4 on Saturday.
Kamalamma (55), Radha (28), Akshit (3), Arnav(1), Manav (6) were killed on the spot. The victims were returning to Bangalore after celebrating Arnav’s birthday in Panaji on January 2. Deepak, Vijaykumar, Suhas and Netravathi are undergoing treatment at City Central hospital.
RSS pep talk
Bangalore, dhns: The RSS, at a meeting in Bangalore on Saturday, is learnt to have given directions to the two factions in the BJP - the Yediyurappa and Ananth Kumar group - to drop their difference in the run up to the elections.
At the meeting, RSS functionaries are said to have told them that infighting would ruin the prospects of the party in the assembly elections.
Monisha stable
Bangalore, dhns: Almost after ten days, Monisha, the 5-year-old girl, who survived bid on her life when her mother tried to strangulate her, is out of ventilator and her breathing appears to be stable. However, the hospital authorities are not in a position to say she is out of danger.
Sources in the MS Ramaiah Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment, said her convulsions have come under control but yet there is weakness in the limbs. The fits are still coming but they are under control, said sources.
Defamation suit
Udupi, dhns: A few devotees have formed Sugunendra Theertha Devotees Forum to protest against two self-proclaimed devotees who have filed an Original Suit (OS) against Puttige Mutt seer and Paryaya Krishnapur pontiff in the Additional Civil Judge’s Junior Court in Udupi.
