Sri M, the founder of the Satsang Foundation is conducting a ten day lecture on the greatest epic of all times, the Mahabharata. The lecture series which began on January 4 will continue till January 13 between 6 pm and 8 pm everyday including Sundays during this period at ‘Nanda-deep’, No 15/3, Palace Road, near High Grounds police station, opposite to Hanuman Temple.
Each session begins with Bhajans between 6 pm and 6:30 pm followed by the lectures till 8 pm. The lectures in English cover all the chapters of the Mahabharata in simple story form. Sri M explains all the important characters of the Mahabharata and lessons we can learn from the great epic. The first three lectures covered the first 15 chapters of the epic.
The lectures by Sri M are of a different nature and would not be a philosophical analysis of the story. These lectures are suited to the young generation as well because it is very rare to hear English lectures on the Mahabharata. Sri M himself said at the inauguration that the Mahabharata is often told in various regional languages and is restricted to villages and these lectures aim at bringing the Mahabharata to the city elite who often do not get such opportunities. The lecture series has been organised by the Satsang Foundation and was inaugurated on January 4 by City Police Commissioner N Achuta Rao.
