The former world number one from France was planning to finish offer her preparations at the Sydney International but pulled out with a groin strain. Three players    share lead

Mukesh bags Tata Open
Ace golfer Mukesh Kumar bagged his 100th professional title by annexing the 2008 Tata Open title with a comfortable three-stroke margin for the second time at the Beldih golf course in the final round on Sunday, reports UNI from Jamshedpur.
The 2007 Masters champion carded two under 68 to take his overall total to ten-under-par 272. This is Mukesh’s second win in the 2007-08 PGTI season.  Harendra Gupta finished runners-up with a total score of seven under 275 while defending champion SSP Chowrasia had to be satisfied with third place finish.

Harikrishna in tied third place

Pentala Harikrishna playing with black pieces held Dutchman Sergey Tiviakov to a draw in the eighth round of the 50th Reggio Emilia Grandmasters chess tournament on Saturday, reports IANS from Reggio Emilia.
With just one more round to go, Harikrishna has 4.5 points from eight games and is tied for third place.
Harikrishna trails leader Zoltan Almasi of Hungary by a full point. Earlier Harikrishna, who has just had one win so far, drew his seventh round against Viktor Korchnoi and then against Tiviakov in eighth round in 46 moves.

Gibbs returns to Test team

Herschelle Gibbs will return to open the innings for South Africa in the third and final Test against the West Indies starting in Durban on Thursday, reports AFP.
Squad: Graeme Smith (captain), Herschelle Gibbs, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, AB de Villiers, Mark Boucher, Paul Harris, Andre Nel, Dale Steyn, Makhaya Ntini, Shaun Pollock and Monde Zondeki.
