To encourage public participation in its ‘Go Green’ initiative featuring buses run on bio-fuels, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has now offered a cash incentive of Rs 1,000 to anyone who alerts the Corporation about buses that emit black smoke from exhaust pipes.
A P Joshi, Managing Director, said the initiative is to encourage people to inform the corporation about vehicles violating the set limits. “We have raised the reward from the earlier Rs 200 to Rs 1000. Public can note down the number of the bus and inform the nearest depot manager along with name and address. After the verification, we will reward the person based on his/her complaints,” Mr Joshi said. For phone numbers of the respective bus depots, visit: www.ksrtc.in or call: 9980915601/22221321.
