A pedestrian was killed when a mobike knocked him down while crossing the road near Kalpane bus stand in Kulshekar.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Pradeep (26). He was working in Urwa Marigudi. The mobike was bound towards Kulshekar to Nanthoor. A case has been registered.
Shops gutted
An accidental fire broke out in a shop and damaged goods worth Rs 5 lakh at Adi Subrahmanya on Sunday night.
According to police, the shop belongs to Shivarao. The fire broke out around 9 pm. Though the merchants tried to extinguish the fire, it had already spread to the nearby shops. The godown of certain Shivakumar H L has been completely destroyed incurring a loss of Rs 3 lakh. A bangle shop owned by Pushpa was also damged incurring a loss of Rs 2 lakh.
