Kodagu district has achieved 90.77 per cent success in the first phase of pulse polio drive.
Polio drops were administered to 50,330 children below five years.
In Madikeri taluk, polio drops were administered to 12, 379 children with a success of 88.7 per cent. Somwarpet has achieved a success of 93.55 per cent. Polio drops has been administered to  17, 831 children.
In Virajpet taluk, the success rate is 80.85 per cent. The target was to administer pulse polio drops to 55,443 children. As many as 1,918 officials and social workers were appointed for the purpose.
An arrangement had been made for the administration of pulse polio drops in four community health centres, 29 primary health centres and three government hospitals. Apart from this, 21 transit booths and two mobile teams had been formed for the purpose.
