Illegal structures razed
Kolar, dhns:

In a sudden action the City Municipal Corporation on Monday razed illegal constructions on the footpaths of the road in the Bamboo bazaar area of the city.  The demolition drive has surprised the people of the city as the corporation had earlier turned a deaf ear to the problems faced by the people in spite of the repeated complaints by the them. The illegal structures were razed by the JCB machines. The illegal structures were earlier marked by the CMC officials.
The footpaths in the area were occupied by the  sawmills (which are concentrated in the area)  who use to blocked the movement of the people by placing the wooden logs on the footpath.
“About 45 sawmills had encroached the footpath by constructing illegal structure which were cleared by the CMC”, said Engineer Mohan Kumar. Those structures which have occupied the road are also being marked by the CMC, he added.
“The foot paths in the Ammavaripet circle, M G road, Sharada talkies road will also be cleared of the illegal structures in a phased manner”, he said.
Circle Inspector B N Krishnamurty and team provided a police bandobast.
