A musical fountain will be constructed near the tombstone of Sir M Visvesvaraya.
This decision was taken at the  first meeting of  Sir M V Smaraka Abhivrudhi Samiti. A fund of the Samraka Abhivrudhi Samiti will be constituted amidst the general public and officers, said Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav.
A decision was also taken at the meeting to construct an archto indicate to the people about the existence of Sir M V’s monument, on the road between the NH  and Muddenahalli.
Also, the Public Works Department was informed to take up asphalting of 600 mtrs of stretch leading to Sir M V’s
 tombstone. Also, fencing of the area around the monument will be undertaken with Rs 3 lakh granted by the Horticulture Department. Moreover, the officials of the department have been directed to create a garden and make provision for drinking water. Moreover, officials of SBM have agreed to provide lighting facilities around Sir M V’s tomb.  The engineering acumen and services rendered by Sir M Visvesvaraya has been acknowledged world over.
However, it is saddening to know that the monument of such a great individual is treated in such a disrespectful manner. Only when the birthplace of Sir M V is developed can   one rest in peace, said  Subodh Yadav.
