It was a day to remember for students of Christ Junior College as their alma mater gave them a warm send-off to its sixth batch of PU students on Tuesday.
Dressed in elegant lavender outfits, 1,423 pre-university students of Christ Junior College proudly received their graduation certificates, even as student representatives gave a glimpse into the bitter sweet journey that got them through the insecurities and uncertainties they faced in their first year of college.
P M Verghese, student coordinator said, “Memories of having made friends, the uncanny pranks played inside class rooms, the exchange of gossips at the cafeteria, victories and the failures, all amounting to a bond that was built to last a lifetime of friendship and admiration for each other. This is what we remember today”
It was a teary farewell that the students gave each other while trying to grapple with the fact that many of them would not share a class room the next year. Binod H R, senior vice-president, Infosys who distributed the graduation certificates dwelt upon the socio-economic conditions of the country, opportunities and obstacles in the path of ievement.
G M Belagali, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) who was the parent invitee appreciated the relentless commitment that the college had to their wards.“Students should inculcate a sense of sincerity in their every endeavour, no matter what they choose to take up as a career” he said.
