Former Minister M C Nanaiah had maintained silence all this while and has not shown his inclination towards any party after the split in JD(S). Now Mr Nanaiah has expressed his wish to make a come back to active politics and has informed that his next political move will be disclosed soon.
Addressing a news conference on Tuesday, Mr Nanaiah said that he has not retired from politics yet and added that in the present political scenario, it is inevitable to join one political party, which he will decide and inform soon.
“The unification of JD(S) was not possible. My well wishers have been pressurising me to take up a decision keeping in mind my political future. I will discuss with my friends and well wishers and come to a conclusion soon,” he added.
Answering a query on the rumours of joining Congress, he said that Congress or JD(S) or any other party, he has kept his options open but he is only taking time to come to a conclusion as to which party is the best for him.
He said that earlier there were only two religions, Hindu and the Muslims. Anybody who supported Muslims were considered as Secular.
But in today’s political scenario tagging any party as secular or communal is meaningless.
“In the democratic system playing politics by dividing castes and sub castes is dangerous. I do not believe in religion and hence I do not agree with the politics based on religion too,” he added.
