Farmers flay politicians
DH News Service,Mandya:

The State Farmers association has condemned the pseudo-concerns of various political parties towards the sugarcane growers. They have lambasted the leaders of political parties, particularly Janatha Dal (S).
Former MLA’s and politicians who did not care to fix a price for sugarcane when they were in power, have been threatening to protest now, alleged farmer leader Ashok.
Speaking at a press conference, he said that, the farmers association had submitted a memorandum to the chief minister in August saying that the price of one ton sugarcane should be fixed at Rs 1,100. But there was no point in making it an issue now, he added.
Were the leaders then sleeping? he asked, lambasting the former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy too.
On January 11, they will lay siege to Raj Bhavan, they  announced. As many as 15,000 farmers are expected to participate. They also requested the progressive associations to participate.
