Pro-Kannada groups stir on Jan 11
DH News Service,Bangalore:
On January 11, pro-Kannada organisations, led by Kannada Sahitya Parishat, have called for a protest in front of Raj Bhavan, urging Governor Rameshwar Thakur to take up the issue with the Centre.

The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, which is spearheading the agitation against  Railways for neglecting Kannadigas in recruitment to D-group posts, received a shot in the arm, with Kannada Sahitya Parishat and other pro-Kannada groups extending support for its protest.
On January 11, pro-Kannada organisations, led by Parishat, have called for a protest in front of Raj Bhavan, urging Governor Rameshwar Thakur to take up the issue with the Centre.
The decision to stage a protest was taken during a meeting at Parishat office.
The meeting alleged that Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav had ordered running of special coaches from Bihar to Karnataka for ferrying candidates.
The meeting also warned of dire consequences if the recruitment process was not called off.
MLC Mukhya Manthri Chandru, who represents Kannada Nudi Kannada Gadi Jagruthi Jatha, has written a letter to all Parliamentarians, warning that the agitation would take ugly turn if the Centre failed to set right the injustice meted out to Kannadigas in the ongoing recruitment process.
