The High Court on Tuesday directed the Advocate General to file an affidavit by January 10 stating the government’s stand on permitting English medium schools from the primary level. Judge Ashok B Hinchageri will take up for hearing the petitions filed by many educational institutions questioning the government’s decision not to accord permission for opening schools in English medium from I to IV standards.
CAT closed for seven days
Central Administrative Tribunal, Bangalore branch will remain close from January 16 to January 22 (both days inclusive) on account of first spell of vacation. The vacation Bench will sit in court hall no.1 on January 18 from 10.30 am onwards to dispose urgent matters as the Bench may direct. During the vacation period, the member constituting the Bench will be available at headquarters.
The filing counter in the registry of the tribunal will remain open from 10.30 am to 1 pm during the vacation period and will receive only urgent applications.

Karnataka Padmashali Sangha has selected the following persons as new office- bearers at a general body meeting on December 23, 2007.
