Yelgod residents demand opening of KGB branch
Gulbarga, DH News Service:
The people of Yelgod in Jewargi taluk and surrounding villages have demanded opening of a new branch of the Krishna Grameena Bank (KGB) in Yelgod for the benefit of villages in the area.

The people of Yelgod in Jewargi taluk and surrounding villages have demanded opening of a new branch of the Krishna Grameena Bank (KGB) in Yelgod for the benefit of villages in the area.

Residents of Yelgod and surrounding villages, in a petition to KGB chairman, have said that  Yelgod is a gram panchayat headquarters and central to other surrounding villages Nandalli, Anajagi, Mangalore, Sathkhed and Hangarga (B), which are part of Yelgod Gram Panchayat. Moreover people of nearby villages Kakhandaki and Kachur depended on Yelgod for their routine transactions. In the absence of banking facilities people of all these villages are forced to go to far off  KGB branch in Balabatti village.

The residents pointed out that besides being far off Balabatti does not have proper communication facilities. In rainy season it was almost impossible to go to that village. People of all these villages have been deprived of banking facilities. They have to wait for a fortnight and keep frequenting Balabatti several times for banking work, they said.

Yelgod, which has a high school, is best suited for villages having better road connectivity.

If a bank branch is opened, people of Yelgod are ready to provide all facilities required for housing a bank branch, they said.
