First war of Independence: Indian view on show 
An exhibition by the Indian Council of Historical Research highlights the suppressed Indian voice of the historic First War of Independence in 1857. The exhibition at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in New Delhi is the reflection of the uprising through an Indian prism.
''The best thing about the paintings is that one can't differentiate the victor and the defeated from these', said noted historian Prof Bipan Chandra while inaugurating the exhibition.
